Restauration

A word that ought to mean giving back life, but it often sounds sad and creates regrets.
The word is not the problem. The issue might be time.

Restoration can mean first of all restoring shape and substance, or this is what a person who loves the city and the environment expects. If every project at its origin has created a metamorphosis of the real, restoration, despite those who believe the contrary, achieves a metamorphosis itself with regard to the real with which it is dealing. Perhaps with conscience and knowledge it should accomplish it also with regard to its significance in time. Restoration is often hypocrisy, absence of will, euthanasia of an origin.
The Academy, the fear to shoulder responsibility and the incapacity to courageously understand the state of things continuously leads us to witness real perversions protected by the banner of “restoration”.

I would not know, but objectively the restoration of a building is not interesting in the sole sense of the “body”, if there is no intention to offer anything apart form that and
there is not even a design reflection that is modern and up to date. Above all this regards the use of spaces, or their use today and in the future, the enhancement of their value and possibilities which are unique. It is not in question the restoration of a monument, but the attitude. Restoration demands courage and vision.
